contest alert!

siren

Hello my darlings.

One of the most anticipated writings contests is on the horizon, and I’ve been endlessly preparing for it.

#PitchWars.

Last year I entered PitchWars, and got some lovely feedback from Dannie Morin, and although I was not chosen it did help me on my journey to now.

Reshaping, revising, editing, the works. Thinking it is done, and then doing it all over again.

tired

exhausting, right? Trust me, it is all worthwhile.

Now, Brenda Drake has said on her blog that she will be posting some more information about the 2015 PitchWars sometime in July, but that the submission window is set to open August 17. (go check out the page at http://www.brenda-drake.com/pitch-wars/ )

That day is sneaking up quickly, so more editing, and revising to go!

Until then,

-Marion ❤

#WriterPitch

Some of you may know, but the launch for WriterPitch.com is tomorrow, and all I can say is that I’m super stoked to be apart of it!

Essentially, it is a website for authors and agents alike to surf through profiles of pitches, and if an agent is interested, they can contact you right on your profile (I believe when you make an account you provide that sort of information)

How cool, right?

excited

I hope to see all your lovely pitches tomorrow!

Importance of Journals

Hello all,

Just a short little tip to give you guys. Over the past few years i have begun to take writing seriously. Out of it, came my minor addiction for journals, but I think it is useful. Here is the tip: buy journals! Have them with you wherever you go. I have about seven or eight that I have in my book bag, my purse, my bedroom, and even in my living room.

They come in handy, trust me! I don’t know how many times I’ve day dreamed a plot idea, dialogue for a scene or anything along those lines and rushed to my nearest journal to write it down. They are also a good tool for time lines, character development/descriptions, and they’re also good for tracking how much editing you’ve done.

So, invest in journals! They’re wonderful, and you can find cute inexpensive ones almost anywhere- you just have to look.

That’s all for now, cheers!

editing, editing and more editing!

The last two weeks have been crazy busy!

I’ve been focusing on a lot of editing to get my MS prim and proper for the Sun VS Snow contest entry on the 26th.

I’ve also had the chance to begin working with a friend from Agent Query Connect, who gave me some helpful advice on my first chapter.

Because of it, I’ve revamped my novel, and I think it is even better than before. Time to dive back into some minor editing (sentences, punctuation and all that jazz).

Updates to come later next week!

Cheers,

Marion ❤

Sun vs. Snow contest

I have come across a new contest that i will be submitting to.

It is for YA, NA, MG and Adult only.

There will be a team that will select the submissions that will participate in the agent round that is to be held February 9th-11th.
